The last post before Emma comes (we think)
Here's one last picture of Melissa before Emma actually arrives (her due date is tomorrow). You can tell that Melissa is being very, VERY patient with her loving husband who won't just take the darned camera and leave her alone.

Pregnancy, week 36: misc. pictures
Hi everybody,
By popular request, here are a few pictures!
Melissa at 36 weeks:

The sweater that Melissa knitted for Emma:

And, finally, two pictures from the ultrasound that the doctor did today to tell if Emma's head was pointed up or down. This one is of her torso, but all you can really see is her spine:

This is of her head. You can actually see an ear!
It turns out that Emma's head is pointed down, which is good, and she has dropped quite a bit. We hope that this means she'll be a couple of weeks early, but the doctor remains skeptical. We'll see!

Hi everybody! It's been a while since we posted something. Melissa's getting bigger (She officially goes into the third trimester on Tuesday!), and we can feel Emma kicking. Sometimes you can even see Melissa's stomach jump when she kicks or punches really hard! We've been told that Melissa was like this when her mom was pregnant with her, so what goes around comes around.
We just picked up all of the furniture for Emma's room, and here are a few pictures.
Crib and changing table:
Dresser:

A really, really comfortable rocking chair and rocking footstool:

And, finally, the fan that Grandpa Tim installed this weekend. Brian helped a bit (and spent a bunch of time crawling around up in the attic splicing wires together) but Grandpa Tim was definitely the brains behind the operation:

Thank you, everybody, for the lovely furniture and fan!

Introducing Emma Rose O'Shea!
We had Melissa's 20-week ultrasound today. We're having a girl! We've decided to name her Emma Rose O'Shea. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound.
Here's Emma in profile. She definitely has the O'Shea head:

The ultrasound tech assures us that this is proof that she's a girl. She's the expert, so we'll take her word on it!

And finally, a face-on picture. Brian thinks she looks a little bit like Skeletor from the old Masters of the Universe cartoon. But, she's still cute!

We also have a bunch of videos from the ultrasound. Our favorite one is a video of Emma in profile. You can see her arms moving around, and you can also see the heartbeat!
More pictures and videos will be posted on our flickr page soon!
