Wedding rehearsal dinner

We took Emma to Chicago last weekend for Jennifer Landgraf's wedding. Emma didn't get to go to the wedding, but she DID get to go to the rehearsal dinner. Here she is with Melissa's friend Chris:

Melissa, Stephanie and Mike took Emma to Frankenmuth and Bronner's Christmas Wonderland today. Here she is at dinner!

Hanging around

Emma is a lot more alert than she was a week or two ago. She spends way more time awake and looking around, and also a bit of time crying. Here's a picture of her hanging out in bed with Mom:

She has already gained two pounds, and is already getting to be too big for most of her newborn clothes (and newborn diapers). We can't wait for her to fit into her Illini and Spartan outfits!

I love this picture, and just wanted to share it. If I had to give it a title, it'd be "Deceptively calm baby." Or perhaps "It looks like I'm sleeping, but you wouldn't believe what I'm doing to my diaper!"

Today's doctor visit

Emma visited the doctor today for a quick weigh-in. According to the doctor's scale, she gained fourteen ounces in eight days! She went from 6 pounds, 9 ounces last Monday to 7 pounds, 7 ounces today. That's almost two ounces a day!
