Stuffed Animals

Emma is just now discovering stuffed animals, but she already has some favorites. Here she is with her meerkat (her favorite animal at the zoo) that Grandma Jean bought her (thanks Grandma Jean).

Emma the Mailperson

Emma loves playing with the mail (real or fake). Here she is starting her new career as a mail carrier:

Unfortunately, the career will probably be short lived. The postal service is very particular about what you can do with the mail, and I think Emma's idea will be rejected!

Happy Grandparents Day

Sunday was Grandparents Day (the wonderful Hallmark Holiday). Emma got to see her Grammy and Papa for dinner and the night. Here they are enjoying the holiday together:

Happy Grandparents Day to all her grandparents!

Emma went out to dinner also. She so loves to use anything "adult," even if the glass is as big as her head!

Emma has a new game, she loves to play hide and seek with things. Her favorite place to look for things is under mommy and daddy's bed:

Emma the garbage picker

Emma has taken a real interest in our kitchen garbage can. Unfortunately, now she's tall enough to get things out of it if it's almost full, which has caused a couple of messes. We've learned our lesson, and we're a lot more diligent about taking the trash out.

She might be interested in pursuing a career in the trash-hauling industry. Personally, I think she's in training to be a raccoon!

Emma going to temple

Emma went to temple on Thursday with Grammy and Papa to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at the Family Service (which is meant for little kids). Here's a picture of her before she went.

Everybody loved her little ruby shoes!

Happy birthday, Grandma!

Today is Grandma Jean's birthday. I realized that we didn't get a picture of her with Emma over the weekend, since she's always the one with the camera. Here's a shot of Emma and Grandma from the last time we were in Chicago!

Happy birthday, Grandma!

Chicago visit

We just got back from a very busy trip to Chicago. Brian and Melissa were in town for their friends' wedding, and Grandma and Grandpa spent the weekend babysitting Emma. We did all sorts of fun stuff. First, we took Emma to the zoo. She seemed to really like the geese at the children's zoo, though she insisted over and over that they were a 'dog'!

Here's Emma with our friend Jen, who is one of the lead zookeepers at the Brookfield Zoo!

And here's Mommy with Emma the baby, next to her namesake, Emma the cow.

Emma was very attached to her Uncle Scott this weekend. A lot of the time, he was the only one that could hold her. We call him 'the baby whisperer.'

Here's one of my favorite pictures of Emma with her Grandpa.

And, finally, Grandma and Grandpa with all three of their grandkids!

We had a wonderful weekend in Chicago. It was so much fun to see everybody!
