Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to the pumpkin patch today.  Boy did they have a good time:

Riding the saddle swings:

Working together to sweep the pigs in the pig race:

 Pony rides:

Riding the wagon to the pumpkin patch:

 Climbing the hay bales:

Feeding the goats:

Back home decorating pumpkins.  Mommy found a new way to decorate, melting crayons on the pumpkins:

Turns out pretty cool, but makes a huge mess, which made the kids love it all the more!

Science

Sarah has begun her science classes at the museum.  She had a great time this week learning about bones:

Here she is playing in the milk table, because calcium makes healthy bones:

 Making play-doh bones:

Playing with the floppy hand, because it had no bones:

Posing with Mr. Bones:

Fun with Kayla

Aunt Stephanie & Cousin Kayla came to visit a few weeks ago.  Mommy, Emma & Sarah went to stay with them at Mimi & Papa's house for a day to play.  The girls had so much fun:

Apple picking

A few weeks ago, we went apple picking.  The girls had fun, and we got some very yummy apples!
Riding the tractor out to the apples:

Emma spent most of the time riding in the wagon eating the apples.  The doctor will stay away for a LONG time given how many she ate:

Cougar Fun Run

Mommy has been so busy lately, I am very behind on posting.  So here is the first of a few.  Emma had her school fundraiser, the Fun Run, a week ago.  They ran the track for donations.  Emma had a ton of fun doing it, and she did great!  She made it twice around the track:

Here she is waiting for her class to get the go sign:

Here was her Fun Run number:
And, while it is hard to see her well, here she is crossing the finish line:

We are so proud of her!

New Activities

The girls finished their first week of school (kindergarten and pre-school).  And despite this big change for them both, they each took up a new activity this week.

Sarah started her gymnastics class on Thursday:  Here she is with the other girls listening to instructions:

Working on crawling over obstacles:

Her very unique way of getting down the tumble track (she did it exactly the same all 3 times):

And learning balance doing hopscotch:

And Emma had her first horseback riding lesson on Friday after school.  Here she is learning to groom her horse, starting with the tail:

 The hooves:

All decked out and ready to go:
On the horse with her instructor, Miss Cheryl:

And being led around the ring by the helper.  Emma even did a little trot, but mommy missed the video of her screeching "Too fast!"

What a great first week to the school year. And best of all, Emma still likes, and wants to go, to school!

First Day of School

Today was Emma's first day of school.  A very sad day for mommy!

Here was her chosen school outfit (it is Princess Celestia from My Little Pony):

She was super excited to go to school:

Sarah was excited about Emma's first day and her own (thinking she was going to kindergarten also).  That lasted until we got to pre-school:
