Happy (?) Halloween!

Daddy got Emma a Yoda costume for Christmas. We dressed her in it for Halloween, and very quickly discovered that she did NOT care for the outfit. It went from merely looking unhappy:

To throwing a fit:

And, to give you a video taste of Emma getting into the Halloween spirit:

Hanging out

We were supposed to go to Chicago for a family Halloween party, but had to cancel. We're really bummed out about it, but we had a fun day yesterday hanging out at home with Emma and the dogs. Here are a few pictures of Emma having fun with the whole family.

She loves to climb into her dump truck, but she hasn't quite figured out how to get back out.

We made Shepherd's pie for dinner, and Emma liked it a lot (except for the potatoes). She particularly liked her side order of cheddar cheese!

Ok, we admit it... She has terrible table manners. Everybody knows you use a fork for shepherd's pie!

Emma loves the dogs, and they love her too (well, Cassie mostly just tolerates her, and Sammy hides under the bed). Emma seems to like to use Cassidy as a pillow - a behavior that Cassie is OK with, as long as Emma doesn't pull on her ears!

Emma's Halloween Party

Emma got to wear her first Halloween costume yesterday and go to a Halloween party with mommy. Emma wasn't so sure about her costume, especially that awful hat:

Once mommy finally forced it onto her head, she was so embarrassed and thought "Mommy please don't take me out in this ridiculous outfit."

She finally got into the spirit though and isn't she just the cutest garden fairy ever:

Here was Emma having fun at the party with her Bumble Bee friend, Maria.

And the party tuckered her out so much she just crashed in the cutest position:

Emma the bully

Emma just loves pushing people around (literally). Here she is bowling over her daddy:

Emma torturing Cassie

Emma has found a new way to torture Cassie using one of her favorite things, the Salad Spinner bowl:

And when she is done torturing her with it, she is thinking about using it to become an astronaut for Halloween:

Emma fetching

Emma has clearly spent to much time with the dogs; she has learned how to fetch (and does it better than Cassie):

We apparently misnamed Emma; she really wanted to be called Susan because she loved playing "Lazy Susan" on Grammy's work chair:

Emma's newest skill

Emma has learned how to wipe faces with the napkin, but she still prefers to eat them, given the chance:

Cute things

It has been a while since we posted. Here are some cute things that have happened:

Emma got a ball popper from her Grammy. She doesn't usually push it around, but likes to wield it like a Samurai sword and scare the dogs with it:

Emma has discovered that she has muscles, or at least that is what mommy likes to think of it as:

Emma has also discovered how to wedge herself into places she shouldn't be:

And boy is she determined to stay there and get what she wants:

Emma at the Pumpkin Patch

We took Emma to the pumpkin patch today. She was so eager to go, she didn't even want to wait for Daddy to drive:

Emma had lots of fun helping pick out some pumpkins. Here she is telling mommy which pumpkin to get:

There was also a cider mill; Emma got to see how the press works and she got to keep a souvenir (she is hoping mommy will bake it for her later):

Emma also went on her first hayride. Despite the way it looks, she seemed to enjoy it after the ride started:

Gerber photo search

We entered Emma into the Gerber photo contest with the picture below (she could be a Gerber baby and win a scholarship). For those who didn't get an e-mail from us or Gerber, please vote for Emma. She will need lots of votes to win. You can vote once per day. And if you have multiple computers and e-mail addresses, you can vote multiple times. Each computer can do one vote a day and each e-mail can do one a day (so if you have 2 computers and 2 e-mails accounts, you can vote twice each day). You can vote every day for all of October. The website to vote is:

http://www.gerber.com/Photo/#/vote/

Her photo ID number is 131262.

Thanks in advance to all who vote. We will let everyone know if she wins!

High five!

Emma's learned a new skill, and boy is she proud of herself. Five up high!

p.s. Listen for her laughing - she's got a really cute giggle.

Check please

This restaurant is terrible, I'm outta here.

Emma's driving lessons

Emma really loves her toy car. When Mommy was out running errands, Emma and I spent some time driving around the house. Here she is, happy to be out for a ride.

Fiddling around with the dashboard...

And here she is, wondering why traffic is so bad in our kitchen. Those dogs are ALWAYS in the way!

Sammy was apparently offering to clean her windshield for her.

Finally, time to get going. Turn the ignition and let's go!
