Vacation souvenirs

So many people helped the girls get souvenirs while on vacation, we thought everyone might appreciate seeing what they helped to buy:

Thank you to Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Mike, Kayla, Mimi, Papa, Grandma & Grandpa for helping the girls buy things to remember this vacation.  They enjoyed getting to pick all of their stuff!

San Diego

We have spent the last few days down in San Diego, enjoying the zoo and Safari Park.  Here is some pictures from our time there:

The girls posing with the Orangutans in the background:

 Emma with the panda bear:

Sarah's favorite part of the zoo was running around the totem poles:

Emma liked riding on all of the statutes:

She even tried to hang 10 on a hippo:

They had a kids area in the artic exhibit.  Emma loved crawling in the seal holes:

And climbing with the koalas (which she says was her favorite part of the zoo and Safari Park):

Even Sarah got in on the statute riding:

At the safari park, the girls got to feed the ducks.  They really got a kick out of them taking food from their hand (though Sarah threw most of it right at their heads):

And while Sarah was napping, Emma went in to feed the Lorakeets.  She enjoyed that so much, she had to get a second helping of nectar to feed them again:

What a great vacation.  Now it is back to the real world, and the freezing cold!

Vacation Day 3

Here is an update on our last day from Disney:

 At breakfast with Stitch:

Sarah surrendered to him:

 With surf Daisy:

 And Minnie:

On the circus train:

Emma was super excited for this "meet and greet," so excited that Daddy had to wait in line for 2 hours for it.  It was the longest line in the whole park:

But we were one of the lucky ones that got to meet both Elsa & Anna.  Elsa had to leave when we did, so we were the last to get them both:

Sarah loved driving on Autotopia; mommy wants her insurance info for the whiplash I got:

Sarah snacking on mommy's favorite, a churro, while Emma rode Space Mountain with daddy (her favorite ride she said):

The last thing we did was meet Rapunzel & Flynn.  We missed them every time for 2 days, so mommy waited for 30 minutes to make sure we didn't miss her again:

What a great time at Disney.  Now, San Diego zoo!

Vacation, Day 2

Today was our first full day at Disneyland.  We had a great time.  We started out at breakfast with Chip and Dale and some of their friends.

Including a raccoon:

We don't know his name, but Sarah absolutely loved him.  Unfortunately, she would never stay still long enough to take a picture.  After that, we went to the actual park and did all sorts of things, including going on the carousel.

And bumper cars!

The girls got to meet lots of Disney characters, including Cruelle DeVille.

Mickey!  (They were particularly excited about this one).

We bought Sarah a Mickey cookie, and she was so excited she tried to eat his face.  (Weird, I know.)

And Sarah got so tired that she conked out while we were at the park.  Mommy even had time to take a picture!

And then we had "Dinner with the Princesses."  Daddy has been left alone to do this post, so some of the names are going to be guesses.  This is the one from The Little Mermaid:

Cinderella, maybe?

Belle:

and the pink one:

and, finally, Sarah was not nearly as interested in this, but really liked trying to eat her pasta with as many forks as she could hold:

Vacation Day 1

Our California vacation has finally arrived.  The girls are so excited to be here.  They were even great on the plane:

When we got to  our hotel at Disney, the girls had a surprise waiting in our room from Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Mike & Kayla.  A whole room full of goodies.  The girls were super excited at all their loot.  Thanks Aunt Steph, Uncle Mike & Kayla for making vacation that much more special:

Then we were off to the park. We didn't get to do a whole lot today, but the girls got their first rides:

The very first thing they did was meet Donald and get his autograph:

And we got to see our first parade, Mickey's Soundsational Parade.  And the girls had prime seats:

We can't wait for day 2!
